what this is all about

I make no claims about being a professional movie critic. This is merely a study of all the films I will watch starting from the 1st of March, 2011. Feel free to dismiss them as the ranting of a smartass. But if you find something interesting, please let me know

Armed with some very interesting camera work and lighting and some inspiring music, Karthik Calling Karthik is surely a head-turner. There were times through the progress of the film that I got distracted and started looking towards my phone. But the film always managed to bring me back. This I believe can be largely attributed to the soundtrack.
There were some nice touches in script and direction through the movie. Though sometimes these could have been more subtle. The Rubik’s cube that was meant as a metaphor for his state of mind and life, though a nice touch was as noticeable as a kick in the face.
Through the first half the movie was slow and it did pick up slightly in the second half. Deepika Padukone looks stunning and made me curse every time she left the frame. The entire movie as a whole lacked any sort of drama. Though the acting of Farhan and Deepika was quite nice there was no drama in the climax. A well rounded movie this is definitely one to watch.
